                    ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS

What is a Community?

* A group of people liviing in a particular local area, where they begin to get attach to each other . . . some live together and some don't. A community can also involve drama due to jealousy or invasion of privacy.

How do communities grow and change with regard to the demographics of the population, such as ethnicity, socio-economic status, fluency in english, etc.?

*Communities change according to people want to be different of wanting better for their community . . .  Some comunites change according to race like today in NYC ; The Bronx is known to have more hispanics, Brooklyn is known to have more Black people and Jews, Manhattan is known to have more Whites and Blacks and Queens is known to hve mainly white people. That is a way how Communites can begin to start being "Different" and forming a racial outlook.

            Tenements back in the 1800's

Tenements are apartment houses that barely meet or fail to meet the standards of a home, they are normally small pack rooms that are sometimes filthy and not a safe place to live in at all.  Tenements were mainly made for immigrants, today it's not for people who can afford to live on their own without any support, like the people that live in the projects are baically people who cannot afford their own homes or cannot stand on their own without government support . . . Tenements are also known as multistoried buildings, row houses, frame houses, and even converted slave quarters because they are shaped and formed like them. As time began to progress from the 1800's, tenements began to change base on the people in the community fight for change and making it happy . . . Today Tenements are now know as project where unlike before now there's more space, more rooms, mch more cleaner and so on.
